About this firearm
Exceptional 1961 Browning Superposed Diana Grade Broadway Trap – Signed Legiers Engraving & Angelo Bee Gold Inlay – 32" IM/IM – Art’s Rebuild
Offered is an exceptionally distinctive 1961 Belgian Browning Superposed Diana Grade Broadway Trap, serial number B 92517, featuring documented work by two accomplished Browning artists and a comprehensive mechanical rebuild by one of the most respected Superposed specialists in the country.
The gun’s elaborate hand engraving was executed by Legiers, while the striking gold game-bird inlays were completed by renowned Browning engraver Angelo Bee. The shotgun is signed by both artists and is accompanied by Angelo Bee’s paperwork, providing valuable provenance for the gold-inlay work.
The Diana Grade receiver features extensive scroll, foliage and game-scene engraving, with detailed coverage continuing across the fences, top tang, top lever, trigger guard and adjoining metal surfaces. Angelo Bee’s gold-inlaid birds provide a vivid contrast against the finely shaded scenes and silver-gray receiver finish. The combination of two signed artists, documented Angelo Bee work and the classic Diana Grade presentation makes this a particularly unusual and desirable Superposed.
The gun is configured as a serious competition trap shotgun with 32-inch Broadway-rib barrels and fixed Improved Modified / Improved Modified chokes. The barrels pattern exceptionally well, producing strong, consistent target-breaking performance. The IM/IM combination is extremely versatile for:
- 16-yard singles
- Handicap trap
- Both shots in doubles
The highly figured walnut stock has a 14½-inch length of pull and features an adjustable comb professionally installed by renowned competition stockmaker Mark DePrez. This allows precise adjustment of eye alignment and point of impact while retaining the gun’s elegant Broadway Trap profile. The wide beavertail forearm, broad ventilated rib and gold trigger complete the classic premium trap configuration.
Mechanically, the shotgun was completely rebuilt by Art’s Gun Shop, widely recognized for its expertise with Belgian Browning Superposed shotguns. This important work makes the gun more than a highly decorated collector piece—it is a fully prepared, competition-capable trap gun intended to be shot and enjoyed.
